Where is Upper Senate Park — near the Senate Buildings?

Cut, Cap and Balance — I’m 110 % in favor.
Need to fight for some fairness in taxation: Many, maybe most of the Wall Street Banksters and other financial Wheeler-Dealers pay only 15% income/capital gains tax on their $100s of $thousand$ or $million$ in earnings — they’ve paid off both political parties for laws to avoid paying the same tax rates that apply to other citizens.
An article recently appeared in Yahoo Finance, which described how most millionaires pay only effective 18% tax rates on their income.

And let’s fight for elimination of loopholes for the large corporations who pay very low effective rates (less than 10%) on their earnings — last year General Electric paid $-0- on $14 Billion earnings. And now the former GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt is one of Obama’s top economic advisers — isn’t this a great country?!?.

Just fixing the above above two problems should yield at least $100 Billion more per year. (Maybe someone can provide more accurate figures.)

Cut, Cap and Balance sounds like the best idea, but we also need to completely overhaul the income tax system. Have you ever figured out what percentage you actually pay in taxes? One man’s “loophole” is another man’s deduction. Changing corporate taxes will not just affect large corporations like G.E, but also much smaller corporations. Some form of flat tax would be much more fair to everyone. The biggest problem is really spending! We cannot allow our representatives to continue spending money we don’t have!

  1. Jan Koskela says:

PLEASE hold the line and keep their feet to the fire!! We are counting on you.

  2. Tom Martin says:

  4. Steven G.Poyzer says:

Wish I could be there, I called my Congressman today and told him NO DEBT LIMIT INCREASE is acceptable.

  5. Roland693 says:

Do you want tyranny or freedom? We cannot afford to spend this nation into oblivion. Our children, grandchildren and great grandchildren should not have shoulder the responsibility for our spending foolishness. When are people in this nation going to wake up. We are rapidly going bankrupt under the Obama administration. There is no bottomless well of money, you progressives, or rather socialists.

  6. Robert E. Smith says:

Hold The Line on The Debt. Remember Proverbs 22 : 7—The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower is servant to the lender.

  7. Betty Wagner says:

Hold the line…..have courage. Remember the problem with socialism – they run out of other people’s money to spend. Do Not Cave!

    • how I wish I could attend; own my own business and the government tax increases have hurt it already!!

Nevada is a bit too far away.

We DO have the privilege of meeting Herman Cain Friday, in Reno!!!!!

  8. Tracy Carman. says:

Either Cut, Cap, and Balance, or shut the government down, absolutely no compromise! We have a traitor in the White House, give him no slack, its no longer his way or the highway. Obummers majority in both houses has ended, he no longer has dictator privileges. Shalom!

  9. Rogert Hermanson says:

Hold the line. Republicans seem to be tough on the get go then cave in and give the Dems what they want.

  10. Joseph H. Schooff says:

CUT,CAP,BALANCE ONLY. REPUBLICAN’S (CANTOR) STOP BACKING DOWN TO THESE ANTI-AMERICA COMMIES

  11. bill Crosby says:

Government is the problem! Government cost is 80% for every program (entitlement,) to administer the various programs for instance teachers unions for every teacher in a class there are three administrators above them!

  12. gabe vega says:

The problem is your very childish attitude about it. To call our president a traitor is a perfect example of this attitude. If a so called communists like you call democrats would have called bush that, they would be un american. I honeslty believe that if obama was not black, you guys would not have such disrespect for an american president. You guys are racist and that is what drives you guys. It is hate that fuels you. I would feel sorry for you but ignorance is bliss. So I know you guys are full of bliss.

  13. Steven Easley says:

    You are idiots!!!

Your going to win a battle and lose the war. The prize is Obama OUT!

Once out we can change all this. YOU are playing right into the the Democrats talking points that The Partiers and Republicans are not rational and would rather bring down the nation then be fair.

Your idiots and this is a mere grandstand to promote the Tea Party Express rather than the Tea Party.

You the same guys that left Harry Ried his job via Christine Odonnell and Sharon Angle?

    IDIOTS!!!!!

    • Karl says:

Steven — you make a good point about playing into the hands of the Democrats.

Others– Yes, we need to cut, cap and balance. But shutting down much/most of the Government now is likely to backfire, cause election losses and discredit the Tea Party movement among millions of independent voters, especially those who rely on government payments for their income. Remember Newt Gingrich in 1994, with the one-two week Govt shutdown, which resulted in Republican losses in 1996.

Need a longer term strategy that will result in a balanced budget, and start paying down the national debt. According to a recent independent study (don’t recall the company’s name), This requires in next ten years $20 Trillion(!) in a combination of spending cuts AND revenue increases. No way to solve the problem without some revenue (tax) increases / elimination of corporate and individual loopholes. Just the interest on the national debt is over $430 Billion annually, 20% of all Federal revenues, and will continue to grow.

Millions of Baby Boomers are now retiring and creating bigger demands on Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid. These ‘pots’ are essentially empty, having been spent by both Democratic and Republican Congresses. There is probably no way to pay for these entitlements without increasing revenues.

Need a smart, well-planned strategy over the next couple years to get rid of Obama and the big spenders in Congress. And make sure we do Not get a second George Bush and Dick Cheney in the White House.

PS — Being new here, what is the difference between Tea Party and Tea Party Express?

  14. Cindy Sullivan says:

Do not increase the debt limit. Balance the budget.

  15. Debi says:

You know they’re lying. They lie constantly. Call their bluff, don’t give them anymore money to flush down the toilet.
